International Athletes. Introduce and enable athletes from Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Central and South America, Mexico, and Australia to compete in the US. My vision is to eliminate the prevailing bias, prejudice, and politics that face these athletes when trying to compete in this country. It should be noted that those who are not oficionados of the fight game do not understand the dynamics of the politics that permeate boxing. Nor do they understand the nature of the boxing governing body that oversees the WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO belts. Oftentimes, politics enter the picture whereby selected fighters are protected by their promoters who, to protect their investment, are not willing to risk matching them against truly great fighters.
Politics behind the Closing Door. My vision is also to break this “closed door” syndrome by eliminating the politics that leaves world-class warriors unrecognized throughout their careers. It is to create equality, to create the forum for international competition that allows any athlete to be recognized for his/her abilities.
Champions, such as fellow countryman Jean Paul Mendy, probably the best pound- for-pound super middleweight in the world today, continue to be financially crippled in the pursuit of their careers. Mendy will be one of the great legends in boxing, but he too lacks the proper connections to fight here without compromise. My vision is to create a stable of world-class fighters who want an opportunity to compete fairly and be recognized for their courage.
